ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Each program is designed to advance the school's mission by focusing on career-oriented education, recognizing the value of diversity, and creating a student-centered and supportive learning environment.

Professors are accessible and supportive in guiding students toward academic success because they view teaching as their first priority. Faculty members post consultation hours, but the general feeling is you can stop by any time to discuss matters with your professor.

STUDY LOAD

The Academic year consist of 2 semesters and a summer term. One semester has 18 weeks. The summer term consists of 6 weeks. The schedule of a school calendars issued by the Department of Education, CHED and TESDA.

Class Hour

•  one unit of credit is one hour lecture or session or three hours laboratory, each week for the period of complete semester.

•  Students should attend classes on time.

•  Classes are suspended upon instruction of the school officials and upon the approval of the President.

•  Examinations are be given on schedule

ACADEMIC LOAD

The maximum load for every student in a semester is 21 units and 9 units foe one summer term.

> Students are made to submit subject requirements such as research and term papers, required projects and other assigned work in their course of study.

EXAMINATIONS

•  There are four major examinations scheduled during the semester: the preliminary, midterm, pre-final and final examinations. The copy of the schedule of examinations are disturbed to students.

•  The official test booklet shall be used for all major examinations.

•  Students without examination permits shall not be allowed to take the examinations. promissory notes are not honored at the Accounting Office.

•  Final grades are release 2 weeks after the semester has ended.

 

•  N.F ( No final Examination)

Students who fail the final examination is marked N.F. However, it is the duty of the student to take a special examination within one month after the final examination is scheduled, otherwise it will automatically become 5.0. A special examination permit must be secured from the Accounting Office.

 

 

GRADING SYSTEM 

•  Grading System – Subject with Laboratory

Knowledge – 30 %

Skills - 60 %

Attitude - 10 %

100 %

•  The grades of students are computed as follows:

Preliminary Grade:

( Class Standing x 2 + Examination Rating ) Divided by 3

Midterm Grade:

( Class Standing x 2)+ Midterm Examination

Rating divided by 3 + Prelim Grade divided by 2

Pre-final Grade:

(Class Standing x 2) Pre – final Examination

Rating divided by 3 + midterm Grade divided by 2

Final Grade:

(Class Standing + ( Final Examination Rating x2)

divided by 3 + pre-final Grade divided by 2.

The passing mark is 75% on a 50/50 percentage rate.

Students who have been taken the final examination but failed to complete the requirements of the course are given an INC. mark. Incomplete marks not removed within one month automatically becomes a 70%.

  1. DRP ( Dropped)- this mark is given to a student who discontinued his or her studies at any time during the semester with proper notification to the instructor and the Registrar. Students who have incurred absences of more than 20% of the required total number of class hours and laboratory period and more than 3 class meetings during summer also get DRP mark automatically.
  1. N.N. ( No name) – this mark means that the student's name was not entered in the final grading sheet and therefore wad not officially enrolled in the subject.
  1. 4.0 is a conditional grade- no teacher shall five a final grade of “4” or “condition”.

The Career and Placement Office (CPO) provides quality and extensive career and placement services to students and graduates through its various program and industry linkages. Students will be well equipped with the necessary career planning , job search skills and tools for effective and successful transition, This office also facilities career opportunities to support students and graduates attain professional growth.
